What a great month the Lorikeets have had.
This month we have been focusing on healthy eating and teeth brushing.
We have had lots of group discussions about healthy food. We have shown the children photos of healthy foods and then the Lorikeets were given the opportunity to recognise the healthy food options. The children enjoyed this activity and were able to distinguish the difference between cupcakes, chips and fruit like watermelon.
We have participated in fun activities where the children brushed their teeth using shaving cream and real tooth brushes on the table which had pictures of teeth. We also spoke about why it’s important to brush our teeth. We had a mirror for them to look at their own teeth. 
In October we have also been discussing our families. We are collecting information from our families to add to our belonging tree, thank you to all the families that have sent their family photos in. The Lorikeets have also been working on drawings of their family. When they were asked what they had drawn they named their mum, dad, siblings and even some added their grandparents. We will be continuing with this throughout the next month.
