From birth, babies are ready to soak up all the wonders of life. Every day is new and filled with opportunity to learn more about the world around them. Whether it’s moving, communicating or exploring their surroundings, their world is full of awe.

We aim to make the transition between home and Oxford Falls ELC as seamless as possible. Your child will have his or her own special Educator, or primary caregiver, who will be responsible for his or her care, activities and will support your child in feeling safe and secure in their new environment. Our Educators work closely with you to find out about your home routine, your child’s sleep and feeding patterns. We’re also in constant communication as your child’s needs change. To support this critical and exciting stage of a baby’s development, we aim to provide a peaceful environment that is physically safe, cognitively challenging and emotionally nurturing through the sensitive observations of our caring and qualified Educators.

On a practical note, we provide a sleeping nursery, cot linen, nappies, cow’s milk, soy milk, rice milk and wholesome meals that change as your child’s eating habits change.

A day in the Echidna Room

On arrival you will be welcomed by our warm and friendly staff. We combine for family grouping in the Lorikeet room until 8am, where children of all ages can play together and enjoy time with the educators. Breakfast is offered, including a selection of fruit, yogurt, toast and cereal.

Morning

The children enjoyed outdoor or indoor play where they participate in a variety of activities combining planned activities based on the children’s interests, abilities and needs as well as spontaneous activities initiated by the children. The babies are aged from 6 weeks to 24 months. Morning tea is offered at 9:00am and for the babies asleep morning tea is kept for later. Morning tea consists of fresh fruit, yoghurt, muffins, banana bread and crackers and cheese. Our younger Echidnas are offered freshly made purees.

At 11:00am our Echidna’s have lunch. Lunch is a healthy hot meal and for those asleep, lunch is kept for them to enjoy later.

Afternoon

The babies enjoy some more play time, followed by afternoon tea. Afternoon tea is served at 2:00pm and consists of fresh fruit, fresh vegetables and a variety of healthy and delicious snacks including fresh made hummus and flat bread and freshly made muffins and oat bars.

Home Time

As the day draws to an end, the children are picked up at all different times. At 5:00pm we meet again in the Lorikeet room for family grouping and enjoy a late snack.

When you get home you can login to Story Park and see all the fun things your child has done throughout the day. You can leave comments on the daily diaries to help the staff meet your child’s needs and provide ongoing support to your child’s learning.
